5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. Crunchy peanut butter is better than creamy peanut butter. My wife will fight me on this, but it’s true.
  2. Other than the greatness of the United States Military, there is nothing the federal government does in 2025 that state governments can’t do better, quicker and cheaper. Not a thing. If you think you can come up with one, post it in the comments below. Good luck. We have a great chance to return to the purest ideals of Federalism right now and I hope we do.
  3. Top 3 Coolest Looking Daytona 500 Cars All-Time. No. 3. Donnie Allison’s 1979 Hawaiian Tropic Oldsmobile. No. 2. Bobby Allison and his 1974 AMC Red, White And Blue Matador. No.1 1984 Richard Petty STP Any Year, Any Time.
  4. If Elon Musk can do one thing, just one thing… I’d like to see him be able to eradicate the proliferation of Major League Baseball players who can’t/won’t hit to the opposite field. If he can do that, he can do anything to make America better.
  5. The battle over “school vouchers” in the Texas state legislature always boils down to one thing. Money. On both sides. It never centers on Education and Learning. Let’s be honest. We’d never design an educational system from scratch that looks like it does today. It’s dysfunctional on so many levels. That said, we’ll never blow it up and start again because so much money is entrenched in so many ways and wedded to the “outcome” that all parties claim victory on. So… what happens? Answer. Nothing. Want your kid to have a great education, want your child to learn? It’s up to you. Not Washington D.C. Not Austin, Texas. Not your local school. It’s up to you and your family and what happens at your kitchen table. You have more power than you know. Don’t give it away.

  1. 1 – the occasion dictates the usage which for me is 65/35 in favor of creamy

5 – True. I’m responsible my kids. But who looks out for the kiddos with clueless parents? That’s the rub and that the cog in the whole system. Especially when teacher salaries are based on the results of both situations – parented and non-parented.
