5 Things We Know On A Sunday – From Thunderstorms To ZZ Top, Aaron Rodgers, West Texas Friday Nights Plus What Too Many Americans Crave.

5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. When ever we have slow-moving summer thunderstorms like we do this morning in West Texas with that wonderful sound of low, rolling-thunder; it reminds me of my Granny Hyatt. When I was little and stayed with her with and my Daddy Jim in summers in Olton, she would tell us not to worry about the thunder. That it was just taters falling off God’s big tater wagon. To this day, when I hear that sound I can see an old wooden wagon going down a bumpy dirty road with potatoes falling out the back and crashing to the ground. One of my favorite sounds. . .
  2. Speaking of rain, I love to fish in a nice, gentle rain. Not very creatively, I call it Fishing Rain. Friday night we got to sit in a friend’s backyard and enjoy some great BBQ quality drinks, all during a glorious Fishing Rain. It was just about West Texas perfect.
  3. My Top 3 ZZ Top Songs: 3. “Mexican Blackbird. No.2. “Balinese”.No.1. “Heard It On The X”. Thanks for the music, Dusty!
  4. Some people just aren’t likable. Aaron Rodgers is one of those people.
  5. If I’ve learned anything over the past or so, it’s that far too many folks live their lives somewhere between fear and insecurity, hoping each day someone else, some “expert”, will tell them exactly what to do and to be “safe”, “happy”, and “successful”. It seems most of those folks never truly are any of those things. . .
