5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- Overheard: “Just when you are starting to think you’re important…remember that the size of the crowd at your funeral will largely be determined by the weather.”
- Jean jackets are still cool, right? Doesn’t matter. I’ve got one that my son out-grew and I’m taking it over. If you see me out with that and a red bandana tied around my pants… just assume I’m listening to Loverboy, Bon Jovi or Sammy Hagar in my truck and that life is good!
- Caught a few minutes of “Forrest Gump” today. The movie obviously stands the test of time. What struck me though is how well the Soundtrack meshed with the movie. Lot’s of movies have great Soundtracks. Very few weave in and out of the story like a narrator the way the one does in “Forrest Gump” Jackson Browne’s “Running On Empty” scene is about as good as it gets. Here’s to great movie Soundtracks!
- I don’t know anyone who really likes butterscotch. Do you?
- The older I get, the more I’m convinced that the nicest think you can say to someone is, “Thank You”. Think about it. If more folks just took half a second to pause and say “Thank You” to others, for the simplest and smallest of things… thank how often we’d be saying that. Think about how many things you have to be thankful for that others do for you each and every day. From your spouse to your kids, from the guy at the gas station to the woman ringing up your groceries. Maybe it’s as simple as a waitress, with too many tables and not enough help trying to serve you… that you can say “Thank You” to… And when you say it… look that person in the eyes. Let them know you see them. And Thank Them. . . As the kids say….it don’t cost nuthin’…
