5 Things We Know On A Sunday – If Americans Loved America, Like Texans Love Texas… Gas Station Sushi/Bad BBQ, Fish On, Why Did Lubbock Not Love These Restaurants And Adversity Hits Texas And Texas Hits Back

Brought to you in part by Shropshire Insurance of Texas. Independent just like all great Texans. Call Jeff this week and tell him we said hello!

5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. Overheard this week. If all Americans loved America as much as all Texans love Texas, we’d all be better off. Can’t find a thing to argue about that statement.
  2. Outside of gas station sushi, is there anything worse than bad BBQ? BBQ probably has one of the greatest ranges from Awesome to can’t-eat-that. Why? Because everyone thinks they can make great BBQ. Fact of the matter is, most folks can’t and that goes for far too many restaurants, even in West Texas and beyond. I’ll say that over the years I’ve had a lot more bad BBQ than great and am willing to bet you have too.
  3. Folks who don’t fish will never understand the exhilaration that comes to you the moment you realize a fish just took your fly….
  4. I’ll never understand how Grandy’s, Gardski’s and Samburgers went out of business in Lubbock, Texas.
  5. A week and two days after the floods in the Hill Country…and we’re just beginning to see how strong and compassionate Texans can be. Adversity does not build character. Adversity reveals character. Texans, for the most part have a lot of character. I just hate the fact that it takes events like this for us to show it to the rest of the world.
