5 Things We Know On A Sunday

1. I’ll admit it. I miss the Diet Dr Pepper commercials featuring “Lil’ Sweet”. Creative and fun. Unlike most of what you see on TV today.
2. If it’s the “Ultimate Game”, why do they play it again next year? – Dallas Cowboys RB Duane Thomas. This can apply to so many things in our lives that in the moment we think as the “ultimate moment”. By definition, there can only be one.
3. We’ve solved the Super Bowl Half-Time issue for later today. Show ten minutes of Bad Bunny doing what ever it is that he does and then show ten minutes of old Bugs Bunny cartoons. Fans can send a message to the NFL by voting with their remote controls. I’m trying to reach NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell but he must have changed his number since the last time we visited….
4. In two weeks we’ve gone from temps around zero or below to making plans to put pre-emergent out on the lawn at the end of this week. Welcome to West Texas!
5. I’d have much respect for any grocery store that would bring back the actual S&H Green Stamps. Not the digital version, the actual stamp you had to lick and put into a book. My grandparents used me and my bother and cousin like sweat shop workers in the late 70s/early 80s. But it was fun to us. Bought my first skateboard at the Green Stamps store in Lubbock. Would I pay a little more to have the real stamps back? Yes. Yes I would.
