Happy Monday Y’all !
It sure doesn’t feel like football weather-wise here in West Texas with temps still pegging the mid to upper 90s, but drive by any high school and all the signs are there. Add in Texas Tech not quite a week into their August Camp and nearly a whole NFL preseason game in our bellies and ya, I’m feeling it right now.
I heard the Olympics were still going on too, so there’s that.
For a lot of folks though, August 31st is the day circled on the calendar when Texas Tech shows off the new-look Jones Stadium in the season lid-lifter against ACU. ( A team Texas Tech should NEVER play)
With the South End Zone re-construction getting the finishing touches put on, and they’ll likely be putting those touches on for several more months I’d imagine in many forms and fashion, we want to know what you want next.
What’s the next cool thing you’d like to see done at Jones Stadium?
From big to small, any type of fan amenities to something major like even more construction, what do you think Texas Tech should do next?

Keep in mind with the 22 million dollar haircut schools are likely going to get going forward as they begin to pay athletes, the days of massive construction projects and the debt service that goes with them are likely to be scaled down for many programs. Tech got lucky on the timing of the SEZ project and even the Womble for hoops.
So, maybe think a little bit smaller and just add a few perks from here. They say from here it’s possible, so what do you want next? Have fun with this one and post your thoughts in the comment section below. We’ll also discuss this and much more tonight at 6:30 LIVE on The Daily Broadcast. Join the show via X, YouTube or Facebook Live. Your choice. We love getting your feedback, questions, comments and even bad jokes.
See y’all tonight
Raiderland Helmet Stickers
Each Monday we celebrate greatness and general awesomeness by handing out the highly coveted and sought-after Raiderland Helmet Stickers. We want to make Helmet Stickers Great Again! We’ll give you a few folks, sports and non-sports we’re honoring this week, then you post yours in the comment section.
- My mom. Three week’s after breaking her hip, going through surgery and then rehab, she’ll already back home and hell on wheels. I could barely keep up with her as she shopped yesterday. I thought I needed the walker and just let her push the cart. Amazing to watch. Some folks are just tough and she tackled rehab like she was getting ready to return to the NFL or something. She had no time to just sit around like “old folks” she told me. So she didn’t.
- Josh Jung. Speaking of rehab, the former Red Raider made his return to the Texas Rangers line-up this week after being out since the early spring. I didn’t know if he’d play again this year, but here he is. Two seasons in and two frustrating injuries for Jung, but he has a great attitude still. Doesn’t shock me. He’s built right mentally and spiritually to overcome things that bog most folks down.
- Scottie Scheffler. Tearing up on the medal stand after taking gold in Paris. That’s what it’s all about.
OK, that’s just a few, y’all hit us with some more and we’ll see ya on the show tonight to talk about your picks.
