Happy Friday, Y’all !
Not a bad week, all things considered. It worked out well to have Texas Tech Football off so we could focus in on some great Texas Tech Basketball. The Lady Raiders staged a massive comeback Thursday night at home against Mississippi State to remain undefeated. The men did just enough to get by Wake Forest in the Bahamas setting up a massive non-conference bout with No. 1 Purdue. The Boilermakers have it all on offense, and have played good, not great defense at times. Can Texas Tech pull the upset on the island? We’ll find out about 10 PM tonight!
Add in a scenario in the Big 12 Saturday night that could clinch a spot for Texas Tech in the Big 12 Title game and the weekend just gets better.
In short, if Coach Prime can gear-up the Buffalos for one night and beat Arizona State and if BYU can win as a road-favorite at Cincinnati, it will be Texas Tech vs BYU in the title game. That would be regardless a Tech win or loss at WVU. Of course Tech still has to have a win at WVU from a CFB Playoff standpoint, so it really doesn’t change what the Red Raiders have to do next week, just take a smidge of pressure off.
