Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
While the Brendan Sorsby situation is already changing things greatly for Texas Tech Football, and perhaps Cincinnati as well; there could be a much bigger issue about to hit the courts beyond sports betting and athletes and their NCAA eligibility.
The Sorsby case could very well determine once and for all whether N.I.L. is “pay for play” or not. This could determine the employment status of college athletes in a major way that we haven’t seen tested before. The large aspect isn’t so much the gambling right now, though that’s bad, it’s the money Cincy says Sorsby owes them.
This might have happened anyways, but it may be fast-tracked now.
One way or another, things won’t be the same for college sports when everything is settled. The sports betting issue may end up a footnote to the Sorsby legacy in college sports.
We’ll talk about that, national reaction to how this is playing out in the media, Texas Tech Baseball’s struggles and even the Kentucky Derby tonight with y’all LIVE at 5:30 Central on The Daily Broadcast.
