Happy Monday, Y’all !
It’s gonna be a wild and crazy week around Raiderland. Again. Maybe.
We’ll find out soon enough as the Big 12 Board of Directors, that’s pretty much your presidents, chancellors and athletic directors, meet in full-force today to talk about pesky Texas Tech and the Brendan Sorsby Saga.
Make no mistake. They want their pound of flesh out of the Red Raiders for all transgressions, real and perceived. If the last week or so has proven, there is real enmity against Texas Tech from their Big 12 brethren. We get the feeling it might be mutual right now.
So, the question becomes what CAN the Big 12 do to Texas Tech and what Will they do? I’d be shocked if anything substantive came out of the meeting today from an actual penalty for Texas Tech. A strongly-worded memo might happen. They could even strenuously object. But will they pull the trigger on writing a new rule about eligibility? Will they try and enforce what the NCAA currently can’t enforce?
Who knows.
