Happy Monday, Y’all !
Football is back.
That’s right. Starting this Thursday we won’t have another Thursday night without NFL or college football until February. We made it!
Of course I’ll only watch about thirty minutes or so of the HOF Game, because you’re only gonna see starters for one series if at all for the Texans and Bears. But still, it’s football and that matters.

This of course means we are at the trade deadline for MLB this week. Hopefully the Texas Rangers don’t do anything rash. A nice stretch recently has them in striking distance of the AL West lead. Nice. Don’t compromise any of the future though for this year. You got your championship last year, way ahead of schedule. Enjoy it and play for next year. I can say that now that the Rangers have won a World Series.

3. D-1 College Baseball finally fully funding up to 34 scholarships per team. They don’t have to, and some schools won’t/can’t but now the have nots can’t hold back the haves in college baseball. Everyone wins. Oh, and you can still get N.I.L. money too, so that’s a good thing. Prediction: College Baseball will have a major TV contract within five years for multiple games of the week. Book it.
