Happy Monday, Y’all !
Quite the little sports weekend for Texas Tech fans.
Men’s basketball goes out to Tucson, dumps #1 Arizona in OT, survives a slashed tire or two on the team bus and is now solidly in the mix for a potential 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament next month. The Lady Raiders had a rough day in Stillwater, but are still well in the mix for a top-four seed in the NCAA’s. Add in Texas Tech Softball going 4-1 in Clearwater, Florida with a win over #6 FSU and their first loss of the season to #8 Nebraska who now has wins over Texas and Texas Tech this season ( they may be good) plus Tech Baseball in Arlington showing some fight on Sunday against #7 Arkansas and we’ve got a few things to talk about tonight.
Whew.
With the Texas Tech MBB picking up another huge win, this is a good time to remind y’all of the Top 2 college basketball sites to pay attention to when it comes to breaking down the bracket and what’s happening in real-time and what will happen in March.
These guys are by far the best in the business and it’s proven year in and year out. Don’t waste your time with anyone who references what Joe Lunardi has to say via ESPN. He’s just not good.
You can thank me later when you’re ten times smarter than your friends.
As you can imagine, we didn’t watch the NBA All-Star game or much if any at all of the Olympics.
We’ll let ya’ll percolate on your thoughts today and then join y’all LIVE at 6:30 Central this evening for a very Large Daily Broadcast. Join in via X, YouTube and Facebook. If you’re knew to the show, here’s what our Friday show was all about:
Get those questions and comments ready to go and we’ll see y’all tonight at 6:30.
Good, Bad & Ugly Recaps
Each Monday we recap the weekend that was with the trusty GBU. Some things in life were great, some not so great and some so ugly you just had to look away. Sports or otherwise, fire away with your GBUs in the comments and we’ll give you a few of ours to start you off.
G: JT Toppin, Texas Tech MBB. Actually, should read Special. Christian Anderson was Great Saturday night against Arizona, but Toppin was special. Be glad you’re getting to watch him in a Texas Tech uniform.
B: The Daytona 500. It just wasn’t a good race. Did it set a record for most “leaders” all-time in the race? Yes. Was the racing compelling? No. Was it a fuel milage race late? Yes. Was there a couple of wrecks late that destroyed the field? Yes. Is that good racing? No.
U: People slashing opposing team busses tires, recording it on their phone and putting it on social media. Messed up.
OK, there’s just a few of our thoughts today, we’ll do a deep-dive tonight with y’all on The Daily Broadcast.
