Happy Tuesday, Y’all !
And just like that, it went from futbol time in America to Football time in America.
You could almost feel the shift happen physically last night after the USMNT got throttled out of the World Cup 4-1 by Belgium. We’re not smart enough soccer guy to say whether that should be a bad loss or not at that stage of the tournament for the U.S. They seemed better than past teams for sure. That said, not the best way to exit when you have the most eyes on your sport than ever before.
And as soon as it was over, it was time for Americans to turn their attention to college football and the NFL.
Don’t worry folks, The Big 12 is here to help. The annual Big 12 Media Days start this morning in Frisco there at the Star. Commissioner Brett Yorkmark will speak and try to convince that the other 15 schools don’t really hate Texas Tech and that the ongoing lawsuit isn’t hanging over the room liked burned popcorn in a bad office microwave.
Texas Tech Head Coach will want to talk about anything other than what went on the last two months.
Hopefully he’ll get the chance today.
