Happy Friday, Y’all !
What a week!
Actually what a season. This week of Texas Tech Softball felt like a whole season rolled into one. Was it only last Thursday the WCWS started with Texas Tech run-ruling Mississippi State? Seems like a year ago. The ride was amazing even if Texas Tech came up just short, again, to Texas in the finals. For a program that barely registered for the first 25 years of existence, long-time Texas Tech observers shouldn’t be crying too hard over NOT winning a national title. Think about that. Tech fans are seriously disappointed in NOT winning a National Title. That is great.
It’s also a little sad.
Don’t let the hopes or expectations rob you of the joy this Texas Tech Softball team has provided over the last two years.
115-24 over the last two years and you play to the final game last year and the next to the last possible game in the season this year. I’ll take it.
All great programs walk/jog/run before they sprint for the most part. Even the Duke Blue Devils under Coach K started off in the late 80s losing back-to-back in the F4 and National Title Game before going off on a string of championships hard to match in any sport any time.
Are we seeing the stage set for that kind of run in Lubbock? We’ll find out, won’t we.
Either way this team should be celebrated in a major way and will be. And the rest of the college softball world, the little minds of the exclusive softball country club can learn to deal with it. We really don’t care. Texas Tech is growing a game that those people don’t want to grow as evidenced by their vitriol towards Lubbock. That will change we believe. Texas Tech in a few years could very well be the program other schools emulate and aspire to be. College Softball can exist outside the current bubble. Texas Tech is proof. Whether some inside the bubble want it to or not…
We’ll talk about that, the latest on the Brendan Sorsby case, Big 12 teams in the NCAA Baseball Tournament and much more tonight on The Daily Broadcast. Most Texan Thing

Every Friday for many a year, we’ve asked y’all one simple question.
What’s The Most Texan Thing You Did This Week?
Big or small, what ever you did, let us know in the comments. Then share this on your Facebook or Twitter/X feeds and invite your friends to tell their stories.
The world needs more Texans doing Texan Things!
We’ll discuss in-depth on The Daily Broadcast tonight.

What Did You Learn This Week
Once again, in honor of our friend Chad Hasty who has left us far too soon – we continue his tradition of wrapping up the week find out what you learned this week. Whether it was sports or politics, life in general or anything and everything; we’ve always go to keep learning.
As for ourselves here, we learned that rain is still the best smell in West Texas. Mud on the floor from wet dogs is a great thing, if not annoying. No matter when you get it or how much…always be thankful for the life-giving rain!
Fire away in the comments and tell us what your learned this week!
