Happy Thursday, Y’all !
The (British)Open is underway this morning and we’re still waiting for Ludvig Aberg to tee-off. Thankful we didn’t have a 4 AM wake-up call for golf in West Texas. With his tee-time at 9AM that will give us several hours of sports-stuff to get through the day.
Wednesday gave us Argentina beating England to advance to the World Cup finals Sunday against Spain. I’ll admit it. I’ll miss the World Cup when it’s gone. Part of the allure has been seeing fans and players from other countries embrace Texas and America. Part of the allure has been the fact that most games have been compelling if not exciting. Part of it was that it was on in our time zone. All of it thought made for good viewing during the dead of July. We thank you soccer.
All of that to say, that it feels like Football Time now. We’re officially in the back half of July. Days not weeks away from players reporting and doing football-like things. Even practice reports and over-hyped player analysis await us. It feels good. So, we declare Football Season Open here in Raiderland.
