Happy Thursday, Y’all !
Cody Campbell and Joey McGuire never sleep. They wait.
They just wait for a high-profile DL/OL to jump in the portal and then they escort him out to Lubbock, Texas. The job Tech has done this go-around is more than impressive. It is turning heads nationally with folks asking how they’re doing it. When the dust settles, it’s gonna be a fun story to read, no doubt. We told y’all for years NIL and Transfers would be the great equalizer in college football and we’re seeing it live.
Texas Tech is one example in the portal. Indiana and SMU, Boise State to a lesser extent in the CFB Playoff. So don’t say it can’t be done.
We’ll look at the portal, talk about Texas Tech Hoops going into the weekend with one final game before Big 12 play starts and much more with y’all LIVE at 6:30 Central tonight on The Daily Broadcast.

Over, Under, Rated Right Thursday
On Thursdays, we get to rating things. You gotta know where you stand on important issues. Sometimes sports, sometimes not. Today is a not.
This week let’s talk about all the great and not-so great animated or maybe computer generated now, Christmas specials. Heck, throw in Muppets if you want. Give us the specials you think are Overrated, the ones that are Underrated and then the ones that are rated just right. Plenty to choose from for sure. Probably a lot that I haven’t seen over the past ten years or so. Heck, let’s get crazy and throw in animated movies if you want to. That opens the door for me to get one in.
Overrated: Frosty The Snowman. Never liked it as a kid, worse today. Could have been so much more. The snowman in Elf was much more interesting….
Underrated: Arthur Christmas. It’s a full-length movie and it makes my list of best Christmas movies all-time now. Great stuff, solid British humor. Well done.
Rated Right: Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. One of the first claymation projects and still one of the best. Standard setter. Hard to overrate greatness.
Fire away with your shows in the comments and we’ll discuss on the show tonight!
Raiderland Hot Links
Each morning we serve ’em up, hot and fresh, the best links from Raiderland and Beyond!
My dislike of the portal as well as NIL isnât because I feared Tech couldnât/wouldnât keep up, my dislike is simply dislike.
Can the players that are currently enjoying the Texas Tech portal party leave the party and go to another one or do they have to remain atvthis party for a designated length of time?
How long is that duration? Is it one calendar year? One season? One semester? One game? One practice? One meal?
If one year or one season is the correct answer, I vote that it be changed to a minimum of two. I believe that that would settle down some of the craziness going on and might very well go a long way in keeping fans such as myself interested in the game. (full discloser â Iâm a 25 yr season ticket holder at Tech â they had 7 home games this year â I attended 3 â trust me when I say that the sport is losing me)
Ditto your comments re: the Texas High School playoff scene!!
Rudolf is the claymation GOAT â tho the mail truck/snocat alone in Santa Clause Is Coming To Town gives that show a massive consideration
