Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
This week is shaping up nicely. We’ve got actual Fall temps today in Lubbock with highs in the 60s. Still a chance of rain this weekend, so factor that into your Homecoming plans out at Texas Tech. Can’t prove it but it seems like if you want rain or weather around The Hubbaplex, just bring in the Fair or schedule Homecoming. Somebody should do a deep-dive on that issue.
Speaking of “issues”, I’m old enough to remember when folks said Texas Tech would die on the vine in the current Big 12. No one would care if you weren’t playing Texas or OU every year. That with the Aggies long gone and draws like Nebraska no longer out there for years, Tech would end up like a MWC (or Pac12) school.
Welcome to sell-out number four of the season for the Red Raiders as Baylor comes to town. Folks ain’t coming out to see Baylor. Or ASU or Cincinnati… they’re coming out to see Texas Tech. They’re coming out to have a good time in a great stadium while watching a good football team.
Pretty simple.
Texas Tech is making great strides again when it comes to the fan-base showing up each week because it’s fun and you only get to do this six or seven times a year… But yes…tell me more about how Texas Tech can’t survive without UT or A&M….

Do some Baylor fans have buyer’s remorse now as Aranda is fighting for his job this year? Where would Texas Tech have looked for a coach three years ago? Easy answer there is UTSA. How different would things be in Lubbock with Jeff Taylor as head coach?
