Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
Like we said yesterday, the open date for football lets us really get into early season Texas Tech hoops. Last night the Lady Raiders beat a solid New Mexico team 75-68. While I maintain that Texas Tech should never play any New Mexico team in any sport, this is still a good early season win for the Lady Raiders. They need to stack success and build. Critical year for the program no, doubt.
As for the men, they take on Wyoming tonight in Lubbock. Wyoming is 2-0 but Dennis Dembo and Eric Leckner ain’t coming to town. Google it if you need to. That said, at least it’s a team representing a large state, so that’s gotta count for something. We are still learning a lot about this Tech team, so once again, settle in, enjoy some hoops and make no massive value judgements on the Red Raiders, just win and learn.
We’ll talk about all of that and much more tonight on The Daily Broadcast. Join us LIVE at 6:30 on X, YouTube and Facebook. Subscribe to all of our platforms, all FREE, and never miss a thing. If you happened to miss a show, don’t worry. In fact, here’s the Tuesday night show for ya:
What If Wednesday
We’re big fans of Alt. History around here. So, after a loyal reader chimed in a while back, we decided to make it a weekly feature. What If Wednesday was born. Each week we look at sports history and ask you the What If question for a big moment. Today we go back to 2001 and Texas Tech Basketball.
What If, Bob Knight is never hired at Texas Tech to replace James Dickey in the Spring of 2001?
How different is the arc for Texas Tech hoops? Who do they hire? Do they turn the program around and stay for a while? How long does the effect last? Do you get 2019 if you don’t get 2001?
All interesting questions. We’ll discuss in detail tonight on TDB but want you to post your thoughts below, particularly on who you think Texas Tech might have gone with. So get after it and create some history!
