8/22/23: Tuesday’s Best, Texas Tech Assistant Coaches, Food Trucks & Raiderland Hot-Links Featuring Great Tech Uniforms, Eddie Van Halen, More Big Drama At The Little Ticket In Dallas

Brought to you in part by McAlpin Chiropractic. A great Red Raider, Kevin McAlpin is here to make your life better!

Happy Tuesday, y’all. One of the most underrated days of the week!

We’re off and running this week. You can feel the energy in the air. Football is back. We’re under a 100 for high temps and it feels like sweater-weather now. Fall. It’s on its way.

We’ve got some changes this week. After a fine run on radio and here, 2Word2sDay is no more. At least for now. There’s nothing really new in media, sports radio and sites like TheRaiderland. It’s all one form or another, always putting a new spin on an old idea. As so it goes.

Say hello to: Tuesday’s Best.

Each Tuesday we’ll ask you to give us the 2 Best of something. Never know what it might be. We ask, you answer. Pretty simple. Or so it seems.

Tuesday’s Best

Texas Tech Football has had a lot of great coaches over the years. If you go back even to the 30s and 40s, you had future head coaches as assistants. So today, we celebrate the great assistant coaches.

Give us the 2 BEST Texas Tech Football assistant coaches, All-Time.

I’ll go ahead and take Bill Parcells off the board. On the Steve Sloan staff briefly, much like Sloan was in Lubbock briefly in the mid-70s, Parcells may be the most well-known former assistant coach. Trivia? He used to play tennis regularly with former Monterey stand-out and Tech All American offensive lineman Dan Irons while in Lubbock. Irons was a helluva an athlete.

So, it’s your turn. Give us the 2 Best Tech assistant coaches all-time today in the comments below. Cool stories always appreciated.

Best Thing I Ever Ate (Hat Tip Cooking Channel)

Each Tuesday we’re talking food in Raiderland. Actually we talk about it all the time but we make it official on Tuesdays. With Texas Tech students back, that means they’ll be out around town and they’re hungry. That’s great for the economy. That also means the Food Trucks will be out. That’s good for my belly.

What are your Favorite Food Trucks in Lubbock?

Are there any you track and follow online to see where to go? Are there any new ones we need to know about? Give us your Food Truck favorites today. If you happen to own one this is called FREE ADVERTISING. You’re welcome.

Raiderland Hot-Links

Every day we finish up strong with links we find fun, interesting and cool. Might be Twitter, might be from a website, might be a YouTube video…never know. We welcome your submissions, so send stuff our way via the comments. Let’s get to it. We’ll see y’all tonight at 6:30 on The Daily Broadcast.
