Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
I think it froze last night around here.
At least for a few minutes overnight we may have got down to 31 degrees or so. Nothing major but it’s a start. We got to have a hard freeze and kill off whatever weeds are growing around here. Been a brutal late Fall for allergy sufferers like myself. So we rejoice in the freeze and hope of more!
Speaking of more, the Lady Raiders gave you more winning last night, slugging it out and past ACU 66-40. Tech held the Wildcats to just 23% FG for the night. That’ll work. Defense covers up a lot of things when shots aren’t falling. You can always control defense and rebounding and Tech did just that. Now we turn our attention to the men and their little trip up to NYC later this week. Big chance to get statement wins on a national stage. Nice to be able to say that again.
We’ll talk hoops, Texas Tech football and more when we come your way on The Daily Broadcast tonight. Join us LIVE at 6:30 on X, YouTube and Facebook. And yes, we will be back. Had some streaming issues last night but they are fixed and we are ready to roll. So subscribe to all of our platforms and never miss a thing. See ya then!
What If Wednesday
We love Atl. History.
On Wednesdays, we ask a What If from the world of sports. History turns on a dime. Things change. So this week….
What If…Texas Tech never built the United Supermarkets Arena?
Tuesday was the 25th anniversary of the opening of The United Supermarkets Arena. First, hard to believe it’s been 25 years since I walked in there to call the first Lady Raider game that year against LSU. ( Tech won ) Second, a lot of folks don’t know or might not remember how close it was for the arena to never have been built.
So, if there’s no arena… what do you think would have happened for Texas Tech Basketball, the City of Lubbock and more. What If?
