5 Things We Know On A Sunday
- You reach a certain point in life when you wake up one morning excited to go to Home Depot and buy a whole-home humidifier. Today is one of those days. If you see me out today, say hello and ask about the humidity level of my house! Looking forward to being able to breathe at night maybe.
- Any time a new housing development is built in Lubbock, they should mandate that instead of setting aside space for a big park, just leave a few lots here and there vacant. The kids will no what to do and they’ll get much more use than a park. Trust me. As a kid of the 70s and 80s, I know of which I speak. Whiffle Ball and touch football will break out, no adult organization needed. And moms can just step outside and yell at their kids to come home, supper is ready. Try it. It will work.
- This one is actually for y’all since I don’t “Know It” this Sunday. Tell us in the comments ( you were going to comment anyhow) which restaurants and Lubbock eateries make the best chili? Give us a Top 3 if you want to. Don’t laugh, but I could eat Weinerschnitzel chili anytime of the year, let alone fall. Now that it’s cooled down, I need some chili recommendations, so get after it. Who makes the best in Lubbock. Don’t be a dork and say, “I do”. It needs to be something we can all buy!
- Once again, over the last week or so, we’ve seen an old saying come true. When people tell you who they are, believe them. When it comes to many things in our lives, we as a nation are far too accommodating and far too, dare I say, tolerant. Both of those “virtues” can be deadly.
- Cars would be a lot cooler if instead of boring license plates we had sponsor paint schemes and numbers on them like NASCAR. “Ma’am can you describe the car that ran the red-light?” “Yes, officer it was the #31 Ed’s Auto Parts Ford Mustang.” “Got ya. Have a nice day and drive safely in your #47 Jill’s Flowers & Boutique Chevy, ma’am.”
