Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
While we may not have any Texas Tech sports going on this week, that doesn’t mean we don’t have some Red Raiders in action.
Could this be the Major that former Texas Tech golfer Ludvig Aberg breaks through and wins? He’s among the top ten in the betting markets. He’s recently been tinkering with a new putter. Golfers do that. He hasn’t played poorly at all, just has had one or two bad holes on the weekend that’s kept him from being within the leaders. That could change at crispy Royal Birkdale this week.
Aberg is joined by two other Red Raiders in Baard Skogen (2020-24) and Tim Wiedemeyer (2023-present) as they will be in the field starting early Thursday morning our time. In another cool story, Wiedermeyer is one of ten amateurs in the field and he’ll have Texas Tech associate head golf coach James Vargas on his bag this week!
If the NBA is more your thing, and you can find it somewhere to watch, you can catch a slew of former Red Raiders playing in the summer league games in Las Vegas. Christian Anderson, Donovan Atwell, Jah’mius Ramsey, Chance McMillian and Zhaire Smith are all in Sin City til the 19th. Again, it’s not much, but it’s something. If you know of any Texas Tech Red Raiders doing pro bowling or something, let us know!
We’ll look some more at The Open tonight with y’all on The Daily Broadcast as well as have our weekly, “Ask Coach Hyatt” feature. Add in any news of the day from around the world of college football and more, in other words Michigan, and we should have a pretty large show. Might even get into the current NFL debate about whether Patrick Mahomes is the best QB still….
