Happy Thursday, Y’all !
The Winter weathers hasn’t made it’s way into West Texas just yet, but the Lady Raiders probably felt a little cold last night at BYU. BYU handed the Lady Raiders their second loss of the season 71-63. 24 Tech turnovers led to 21 Cougar points, too much to overcome on the road.
So what’s wrong with the Lady Raiders now that they have back-to-back losses?
Nothing.
Still a very good team, still capable of winning at the highest level in the Big 12. Sometimes, teams just lose. Even good teams.
It struck me last night some of the sports-oddity of this team getting their second loss at BYU. After just tying the 1993 teams 19-game winning streak, history repeated a bit. That teams second loss of the season also came in the state of Utah, at the Utes. A snowy trip that featured the last time the Lady Raiders would wear black shoes. Pretty sure they burned them at the team hotel parking lot as they got snowed in a bit. You gotta do what you gotta do.
So, if history is repeating… well, not such a bad thing sometimes.

Each Thursday we get to rating a few things in Raiderland. All too often folks are asked their opinions on certain subjects and they aren’t prepared. We don’t want that to happen to you! So, sometimes we go sports, sometimes not. Today is a not.
When it comes to Cold/Wintry Weather, give us the ultimate Overrated, Underrated and Rated Right Food and Meals. With Lubbock about to get slammed tomorrow, this will be handy information to have. Fire away in the comments and we’ll give you a few of ours here.
Over: Stew. Sorry stew lovers and folks named Stew, but it is just overrated. I’d rather just have a good soup most days.
Under: Speaking of soup…hi there pozole! If you can find it where you live let us know. Hard to find good stuff. If you make it, can’t put too much hominy in there.
Rated Right: Pastas. Everything but spaghetti. Not a fan of the spaghetti, but just about anything else works on a cold day. Add some spicy shrimp and we are good to go.
