Happy Thursday, Y’all !
It took a while to get going, but Texas Tech MBB stretched things out in the second half and beat an undefeated DePaul team 76-62. Tech was without Devan Cambridge and J. T. Toppin. No word on when Cambridge will return. Listed as “personal reasons” on the report, so we figure it’s… personal. Toppin with a “lower body” issue shouldn’t be an issue going forward we are told. We’ll see. Tech was awful on 3s but solid 13-17 at the line so they did the little things. I sound like a broken record, but still think this team takes too many 3s… we’ll see what it looks like in Big 12 play soon enough. Either way, a solid win at home for a team that really needs more quality wins. Every team til now has been Quad 3/4. Gotta do better scheduling in the near future.
On the football front, it was NSD. You can find the links below. Forgive me if I don’t waste time and oxygen on a bunch of guys who may or may not be here next year. I’ve only got so much time. Prefer to focus on the actual contributors to the roster now in CFB and not the What Ifs and Maybes And Michas out there.
We turn our attention now to who Joey McGuire taps as the next guy with the keys to the Texas Tech offense. I think we may have the answer by tonight, or at least very clear direction.
So, we’ll discuss all of that an more tonight with y’all LIVE at 6:30 on The Daily Broadcast. Join in on X, YouTube and Facebook Live and get your questions and comments fired away. If you missed the Wednesday show, fret not. Here ya go:

Over, Under, Rated Right Thursday
Each week we get to rating things. Sometimes sports, sometimes not. This week it’s a Not Sports topic.
In honor of the great Gil Alexander on VSIN, we give you this week’s topic to rate: Steely Dan Songs.
On his show, A Numbers Game, weekdays from 9-11 AM Central, Gil and co-host Kelley Bydlon have ventured into dangerous waters, discussing who is and who is not “Yacht Rock”. Steely Dan is clearly NOT Yacht Rock. They’re merely one of the best musical groups our country has generated in the last 50 plus years. So, get to rating those songs. You got plenty to choose from. Here’s a quick-hitter from us.
Under: “My Old School”. This song has a lot going on. You hardly ever hear it on radio, satellite or otherwise. A great glimpse of where the band was in the early 70s.
Over: “Reeling In The Years”. Great song. Launched the career. It’s also a song that I could have seen other bands around the era recording and doing well. Not a bad song at all…just gets more credit than it should for their legacy.
Rated Right: “Peg”. Again, great song. Gets a lot of credit for the incredible album it came from in Aja. For my money, give me “Deacon Blue” and “Hey Nineteen” over “Peg” in the draft order.
Ok, there’s a few of ours, fire away in the comment section below and will add this to the topic list for TDB tonight LIVE at 6:30.
