Happy Monday, Y’all!
Welcome to the Monday that kinda feels like Sunday… Happy Labor Day everyone!
Now that we’re a little removed from the immediacy of the first game of the season for Texas Tech, we can continue to dive into what went right and what didn’t go so right. Wrong is a little harsh but we get the folks who were expecting more offense Saturday against ACU.
After the game there was a lot of focus on the Red Zone. Going back, it looks more like execution than play-calling. Will Hammond said as much in the post-game show. Remember, we are LIVE on Raiderland Rewind so we aren’t getting to hear in real-time what’s being said after most of the games. Either way, the RZ was a problem last year and it rose up to bite Texas Tech a few times Saturday night.
We have an idea how to fix it by the way:
Another thing we will examine on The Daily Broadcast this evening is the relative vanilla nature of the Texas Tech attack. Did they throw downfield enough? Hammond was 13-13 on passes of 0-5 yards Saturday. Perfect. But what about attacking deeper? How did Saturday compare to those numbers last season.
We’ll have all of that, the beginning of Oregon State thoughts, a run-down around the Big 12 and whatever else the day brings us news-wise. Please. No court cases today….

- Quinten Joyner.. First carry for Texas Tech after tearing up a knee last August is a TD. Welcome to playing in front of sell-out crowds!
- Western Michigan. Beating Michigan is always awesome. And yes, they beat Michigan.
- Jamond Mathis. Great debut up front for the Texas Tech defense. Huge push and disruption. Fun to watch.
OK. There’s a few to get you started. See y’all on The Daily Broadcast starting at 5:30 Central. If you’re cooking-out, take us with you and save some burgers for us! Extra cheese and pickles.
