Happy Labor Day, And Bird Season, Y’all !
We’ve got friends out hunting this morning around Raiderland HQ and the gunshots did not start until the sun cleared the horizon, as per Texas law. Law and order around Raiderland, always! Here’s to great day for everyone out there and hope you hit your limit fast and get to enjoy the rest of the day sharing your bounty with the rest of us!!!
Speaking of which, what’s on your menu today in Raiderland? Do y’all have big get-togethers or is it a simple day off? Is it a brisket day or simple burgers and hot dogs? I’ve rarely had the day off, so it’s never been much off a big celebration holiday when you work in sports media. It’s just Monday with fewer folks around the radio or tv station. Which means the Sales Weasels are gone, so we always like that. Fire away in the comments with what y’all are doing in Raiderland or hit us on Twitter @RyanHyattMedia and share some great pictures.

Throwback Labor Day… 2004 or so….
As for work, yes, we’ll be working today. Obviously we already are, cranking out a column and hanging out with y’all. Looking forward to a fun Daily Broadcast tonight when we go live with y’all at 6:30 Central. Always good to talk about a large Texas Tech win, Behren Morton is alive and well per reports and the Longhorns and Crimson Tide lost. Life is good Join us on the show via Twitter/X, YouTube and Facebook. All platforms always FREE so subscribe to them all and then watch where you prefer.
If somehow, someway you missed Raiderland Rewind Presented by Live Live Well Clinic in Lubbock, here ya go:
We’ll obviously continue to talk about what Tech was able to do and what we learned Saturday on The Daily Broadcast tonight, so get your comments and questions ready to roll at we’ll see you at 6:30 Central. Dress nice.

Good, Bad & Ugly Weekend Recap
Our old friends from The Williams & Hyatt Show days know how to recap the weekend. Give us what you loved, hated and what was so ugly you had to look away. Not sure there was any Ugly in the Red Raiders win, but there was plenty of the first two.
Good: Loved the way Texas Tech pushed the ball upfield with Morton’s arm. Numerous receivers, all putting pressure downfield on the DBs. Much more aggressive. Maybe last year it was because of Morton’s arm issues. Maybe not. Either way, if I never see another bubble-screen, I’m a happy man. No QB ever woke up and said to himself, “man, I hope I get to throw a ton of hitch-passes today…”.
Bad: The Texas Tech Alumni Band, as they celebrate 100 years of marching got derailed at halftime by the massive storm that rolled in. Hope Tech can bring them back again, as many as possible later this season.
Ugly: Preseason Heisman Trophy candidate Arch Manning has as many TD passes as Texas Tech third-string QB Mitch Griffis. Obviously, Texas Tech should have spent more time and money on the marketing of Griffis.
OK, there’s just a sample of our GBUs from the weekend. Post your own here, expand beyond Texas Tech or even sports and then we’ll go in-depth tonight on The Daily Broadcast.

We had a rant about polls on the response to the Saturday column – even tho it was a bit tongue in cheek – and I’ve come to the conclusion that instead of complaining about it, we should do it better. So, I suggest that we have a Raiderland Top12 – not CFP projections – a true Top12 based on actual results. And I nominate myself as one of the voters. 😎
An example of my line of thinking: FSU had the best win of the weekend and therefore are my number 1. Even is FSU wins next week, if a better win occurs, the Noles can be bumped. Actual results, not projections regarding fictional matchups.
Texas, Bama, ND, Clemson – sorry, no wins, no rank.
The GOOD: the Texas and Bama losses
The BAD: The INT to end the Nebraska/Cincy game
The UGLY: Arch Manning
The AWESOME: the pics of the storm rolling over Jones AT&T
Seriously tho. I am fully aware that not everyone shares my opinion of poll criteria – that’s why I would not be the lone voter in the poll.
I feel like Billy Idol – I’m dancing with myself
But with TCU curbstomping UNC here’s my 12 best wins of the season -also known as the 12 best resumes – or simply,
The Top12
1. FSU
2. LSU
3. Miami
4. tOSU
5. Tennessee
6. Utah
7. Iowa St
8. S Carolina
9. TCU
10. Nebraska
11. G Tech
12. Auburn
