Happy Monday, Y’all !
The Year of Living Dangerously finally caught up with the Kansas City Chiefs.
You knew it was bound to happen. After more than a few improbable wins, the Chiefs undefeated season ran into the Bills Mafia and lost Sunday 30-21. It was probably closer than the final score, but Josh Allen broke off a late 4th down TD run and that sealed the deal.
Do you want the good news or the bad news when it comes to the Chiefs?
Good news, when they lose to Buffalo in the regular season they win in the playoffs.
Bad new, the last time the last remaining undefeated team in the NFL won the Super Bowl was in 2006 when the Colts did it.
So, which trend is gonna play out for Patrick Mahomes and KC?
Either way, the AFC is so good to watch week in and week out. Meanwhile, the NFC gives us Philadelphia and … well, maybe Green Bay.
Thank you Patrick Mahomes on behalf of all Texas Tech fans for getting drafted into the AFC and making it Great Again.
We’ll have lot of NFL tonight on The Daily Broadcast as well as look at the upcoming Big 12 Pillow Fight in Stillwater between Texas Tech and OSU. Is this gonna be the last time we see Mike Gundy against Texas Tech? Could be… All of that and much more including your great questions and comments.
So, join us LIVE at 6:30 tonight on X, YouTube and Facebook Live. Subscribe to all of our platforms and never miss a thing. And always, they’re FREE, so join in and watch where your prefer. See ya tonight.
What Do We Know This Week?
Ya gotta know what you know when it comes to starting off the week… We know it’s raining and we know our roads will be muddy. We know we got most of the Christmas decorations out and the tree done this weekend. We know that my wife likes coconut shrimp and I prefer popcorn or peel-n-eat. We know The Big 12 will only get one team in the CFB play-off.
So, tell us what you know this week.
From Texas Tech Football to the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans or anything else. Post away in the comments below and then we’ll debate and discuss tonight on TDB.
Oh ya, we know something about Texas Tech Soccer too. Will tell ya this evening.
Get those comments going. As we say, we’re not a message board, but we always appreciate ( for the most part,) and enjoy (for the most part) your comments!
Raiderland Helmet Stickers
Let’s Make Helmet Stickers Great Again! (But say no to the red face mask!)
Each Monday we celebrate greatness in Raiderland. Who was awesome this past weekend and week in your world and who deserves some recognition? You tell us, sports or non-sports, it doesn’t matter. We celebrate awesomeness where we find it.
Here’s a few of ours:
- Texas Tech Soccer. Advancing after beating LSU, they take on #1 Duke this coming week on the road. All Tom Stone does is make teams better as the year goes along.
- My Wife. Decided to go “retro-cool” on the Christmas Tree this year. I like it. Got a very 60s/70s vibe. Even has the silver tinsel on it. I do not find tinsel distracting.
- Army Football. They play a Very Meaningful Game against ND this coming week. Helmet Sticker in advance for the team led by former Abernathy product Bryson Daily at QB. Go Army, Beat Notre Dame.
- Lady Raider Basketball. Undefeated and a quality win over Washington State this past weekend. Tough game and the rallied in the 4th to take the win. Will loom large in March
- Anyone who didn’t pay “extra” to watch the Mike Tyson – Jake Paul TV show. If you already had it paid for, I get it. If you actually shelled out new money, I can’t help you….
OK, there’s some of ours, post yours down there in the comment section and again, get ready to talk Helmet Stickers on TDB tonight at 6:30.

Second that Helmet Sticker to Tech soccer!
The Athletic’s CJ Moore has Tech men’s bball ranked 12th.
“Texas Tech is the team the computers and humans are farthest apart on. Texas Tech ranks No. 9 at KenPom, No. 10 at Evan Miya and No. 12 at Bart Torvik. The Red Raiders have yet to appear in the AP Top 25, despite my best efforts. I was one of 18 voters to rank Texas Tech last week and slotted them the highest, at No. 11.
In defense of the other voters, the Red Raiders have played a weak schedule thus far, but theyâre crushing those teams. At KenPom, the predicted winning margins for the three games has been 77; the actual margin has been 101. Texas Tech was missing its two top point guards (Elijah Hawkins and Christian Anderson) in the first two games. Both came off the bench last week against Wyoming in a 96-49 win, which KenPom predicted would be a 21-point win.
Itâs possible that Texas Tech is this yearâs Iowa State, a team beating up on lesser competition early, which could be a sign itâs about to be way better in the Big 12 than expected and the computers are the first to catch on. (Cincinnati is another candidate.) The one difference was that Iowa State had a dominant defense, while Texas Tech is elite offensively. The Red Raiders lead the country in effective field goal percentage (66.3) and are shooting 47.8 percent from deep.”
Agree on Tech MBB. We think they’re good, they look good, but the eye-test won’t happen til the play teams with a pulse. That will not happen tonight.
