Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
We got some big news Tuesday in the world of college sports and NIL. In short, the group overseeing the implementation of the House Settlement came back and said NIL Collectives can still do exactly what they’d been doing. No shock since the College Sports Commission is absolutely toothless when it comes to enforcing anything. They have no legal standing over groups like The Matador Club, which I think should still operate outside Texas Tech’s athletics department. This is just the begging of many challenges to the CSC so anyone who thinks things have really changed and there is a magical cap on what players will earn haven’t been paying attention.
Speaking of paying attention, that’s all Jerry Jones wants you to do the next month. Just watch the circus of Dallas Cowboys camp and enjoy the drama. He certainly does. That’s the only explanation for his opening statements this week about his best players on offense and defense. Drama. Of course we’re used to it, but it still amazes us Cowboys fans put up with it and enable it. Sports. Gotta love it. Makes no intellectual sense sometimes.
We’ve got all of that and a lot more to get to tonight on The Daily Broadcast. Join us LIVE at 6:30 Central via Twitter/X, YouTube and Facebook. All of our platforms are always FREE so subscribe to them all and never miss a thing. If somehow you did miss the Tuesday show, here ya go:

What If Wednesday
We’re big fans of Alt. History here in Raiderland. The What Ifs in sports and other history are always fascinating. So each Wednesday, thanks to the idea of long-time reader Robert C., we give you a What If and see where it takes us.
This week we’re looking at Texas Tech and SWC history.
What IF: The SWC unravels in the early 1990s?
What IF the SWC dissolved in the early 1990s under the weight of multiple scandals, NCAA Shut-Downs and defections of member schools? Where would Texas Tech have ended up? Would it maybe have been better than how the Big 12 forms a few years later? What IF Arkansas, Texas and Texas A&M all went to The SEC? Does Tech go with them? Does the Big 8 expand, never forming a Big 12 but just embraces a few old SWC for a southern tier like OU, OSU, Texas Tech and maybe Baylor?
It’s 1991 and the SWC is dead. What happens next.
