Happy Thursday, Y’all !
The Big 12 has ruled and fined both Texas Tech and Kansas 25 grand each for what happened and maybe didn’t happen and what was said and how it was handled this past Saturday night in Lubbock. The question for Texas Tech fans, are you satisfied with the “investigation” and the actions by the league?
We felt all along the league would find some way to fine Tech. They went with repeated objects being thrown on the field. Note they didn’t say tortillas specifically. KU gets fined for alleging that a pocketknife was thrown into their bench area without proof.
So now what happens?
Is Texas Tech on some sort of probation going forward? Does Texas Tech get hit with another fine if they get penalized by fan actions next week against Oklahoma State? It puts the onus on fans going forward to take away the ability of the league and the officials to make that call. The tortillas just have to end. That’s it. That’s all there is to it. For any so-called fan to jeopardize the best season Tech’s had in years just blows my mind. Are folks that selfish in 2025? I hope I get proved wrong, but fear Tech will get another penalty or two before fans realize they have to take control of the situation themselves….
Meanwhile, we saw the line drop nearly two points towards Arizona State yesterday afternoon when a LOT of money poured in on the Sun Devils. This was before Tech QB Behren Morton was listed as questionable along with Romello Height. This looks like a “pro” move where some major bettors wanted to manipulate the line to a number they wanted. We expect it to rise back to around 8 or 9 for sure. Fascinating to watch in real-time Wednesday.
We also ran the numbers for ya. If you put 50 bucks on Texas Tech to win both the College Football Championship and the MBB Tournament, you’ll take home $12,300.00 for your trouble. Anyone gonna make that move right now?
