Happy Monday, Y’all !
What a weekend!
As if the Texas Tech MBB 17-point rally Saturday night against Duke wasn’t enough for you, the Texas Tech Lady Raiders went down to Waco and snapped a 31-game losing streak to Baylor with a couple of Bailey Maupin free throws with 3 seconds to go to get the 61-60 win to remain unbeaten on the year.
Not a bad weekend to help you wait through the early CFB Playoff games to see who the Red Raiders will face in the Orange Bowl. Wait. We’re told that Oregon was somehow able to hold off James Madison to advance. Very good. Texas Tech owes the Ducks a few things from over the years. We’ve got plenty of time to start breaking down that game but it’s simply the Duck offense which is really good, vs the Texas Tech defense, which is not very good. It’s ELITE.
Already this morning we’re hearing lots of national sports types expressing love for the Red Raiders saying they can’t believe Oregon opened as a 1-point favorite. Of course we told y’all that would happen, so we aren’t shocked. One more thing to motivate Texas Tech as if you need any “fake outrage” to get going in the CFB Playoffs. This ain’t the Liberty Bowl….

Good, Bad & Ugly Monday

Each Monday we recap the weekend that was with the old GBU. Some things were beyond great, some good, some ok, some bad and some so ugly you just had to look away. Whether it’s sports or a Christmas shopping trip gone bad, you’ve got plenty to choose from we’re sure. So fire away in the comments. We’ll give you a couple to get started.
G: Texas Tech G Christian Anderson being involved in 19 of the last 23 points Texas Tech scored in the comeback against Duke. He was an NBA player in the last 15 minutes of that game.
B:Miami Hurricanes FG kicking. Or lack there of. In fact. That whole game was just bad to watch. Not buying it was stellar defense.
U: Hate to say it, but James Madison and Tulane taking up spots in the CFB Playoff was an ugly look. They got in by the rules, but the rules probably need to change.
OK, there’s a few to get you started. Let us know what you loved about the weekend we’ll discuss in-depth tonight on The Daily Broadcast.
Raiderland Hot Links

Can Tech’s offense equal JM’s 34 points scored?
Can the Tech D do better than the 51 points allowed?
I’m beginning to really like this matchup.
As for JM and G5 inclusion, yeah they were overmatched but I still think they deserve a seat. So how ‘bout this: play-in games for the 12 seed vs the team “ranked” 12. Can do it for the 11 seed too if the ACC continues to produce unranked champions.
This year would have been ND vs Tulane and BYU vs JM with the winners traveling to Eugene and Oxford.
2 unlikely bball wins – looks like winning is contagious in Raiderland. I’m excited to see what all transpires this spring.
Also, sometime in near future, let’s pretend CFB downsizes to 72 teams in eight x (9) team divisions.
Who would you want Tech to have in their division?
