Happy Monday, Y’all !
Welcome to the last full day of Summer. Hard to believe it but 93 days more or less have come and gone and we’re about to fully embark on Fall starting around 7PM Tuesday in West Texas. Here’s hoping the Summer was every bit as good as any Phineas and Ferb adventure.
Along with the end of Summer, we’ve now got three games of Texas Tech Football to digest. 25% of the season already in the books. That seems sudden. We’ve got a team that sits in the Top 10 in the Coaches Poll. We’ve got a Red Raider team with a quality win over a ranked Houston team.
And no one is really satisfied.
And that’s exactly how it should be right now for Texas Tech Football…
Welcome to the world of expectations (realistic) and accountability. Inside the program and within the logical fan-base most folks are thinking that this is a good start, but that this team has played no where near its ceiling. And again, that’s a good thing. As one viewer on Raiderland Rewind pointed out late Friday night, you got the feeling Texas Tech still didn’t play nearly it’s best, but that that was probably close to as good as the Cougars can play.
Three games in, we’re also still trying to figure out exactly what we know about the Red Raiders. Is Will Hammond emerging as The Guy. Who does this defense belong to? Who are the playmakers and what’s the identity so far? We’ll ask that question of y’all tonight on The Daily Broadcast.
We’ll go LIVE at 5:30 Central this evening looking at Texas Tech, what we think we know about the Big 12 so far, plenty of NFL to recap ( are those the real Dallas Cowboys and are the Chiefs telling folks they’ve still got some magic left in KC) plus whatever news the day brings us. We might even have a new Monday night wrinkle to through your way, so be prepared.

- Cam Dickey. Texas Tech RB. Dickey was the Ultimate Warrior late Friday night we he forgot about personal glory ( and the cover ) and took a slide instead of TD, thus ensuring Texas Tech would get the win over Houston. Oh ya, it was a really cool, insta-meme kinda slide.
- Ole Miss. You just had to love it. Every bit of it.
- Patrick Mahomes. QB Kansas City Chiefs. They put it on his arm and he delivered in the 33-30 win over Indianapolis. If Mahomes was a game manager last week, he was back to Game Dominator Sunday night. 32-47 for 382 yards with 3 TDs and no picks. The Chiefs aren’t all the way back to Super Bowl level, but Mahomes showed his still got the magic when needed.
