Happy Thursday, Y’all !

Baseball is a funny game.

You never know what might happen when you show up at the ballpark.

For Texas Tech Baseball fans, could we be seeing the end of an era for the Red Raiders this week?

Texas Tech opens a critical series at Cincinnati today in the Big 12 finale for both teams. For Tim Tadlock, could this be his final series at Texas Tech head coach??? Texas Tech has to win at least one game in order to make the Big 12 Tournament next week. They have a one game lead over Arizona with the tie-break starting the weekend. If Houston were to sweep and Tech get swept, Houston has the tie break over Tech. It is more likely than not that Texas Tech survives to play next week, but you never know.

And that’s baseball and that really sums up this season and last year for Texas Tech. from game to game, heck, even in the same game sometimes – you never knew what you were gonna see. Good hitting, no hitting, horrible fielding and bad pitching, then you might go win a 2-1 game like you did last Thursday against BYU in Lubbock.

You just don’t know.

And that’s why we ask the question as to whether we are seeing the end of the Tadlock Era at Texas Tech.

We hope not. We wrote about it last Saturday. But as of today, Texas Tech athletics director Kirby Hocutt has been very quiet about the future. We get the feeling that Tadlock wants to have the chance to come back no matter what happens over the next few days. You just never know.

Either way, hopefully this team will look like they want to keep playing baseball this season. Hopefully they’ll respect the game as Tadlock has said so many times over the years. We’ll find out starting 5 PM Central today when Kayson Raineri takes the mound for the Red Raiders. . .

We’ll talk about that, Texas Tech Softball started their quest to return to the CWS on Friday vs Marist as well as whatever the Lords of the Realm in college football give us today regarding playoffs, NIL and more. There’s always more. We’ll be LIVE with y’all at 5:30 Central tonight on The Daily Broadcast.
