Happy Wednesday, Y’all !
Made it to mid-week and it’s another foggy morning here. in West Texas. After the recent rains, things are greener than the were all Summer around Raiderland HQ. It feels like Ireland this morning. Just waiting for John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara to come walking down the road….
We’ve got a little news this morning thanks to Don Williams and the A-J when it comes to Texas Tech Football. It looks like Texas Tech is close to a deal to have an actual P4 opponent to open the season with in 2027. That would be a massive upgrade. Might find out this week, might not. Either way, the Mystery Opponent should dramatically improve the strength of schedule for the Red Raiders next year.
One detail to be seen is whether this will be a home game, a road game or a neutral site Week 0 event. Home would be best, but at this point Texas Tech can’t be choosy. They’re backed into a corner and other schools know it so Texas Tech A.D. Kirby Hocutt isn’t exactly playing a strong hand here. Good work by Don to track this down. . .
We’ll talk about that, the match-up with old Border Conference foe Arizona this week, the rest of the Big 12 slate and much more tonight on The Daily Broadcast. We won’t stop there either as it is “Ask Coach Hyatt” night and Point Spread Wednesday. We’ll give you three game to pick with your imaginary bankroll.
