5 Things We Know On A Sunday

  1. For kids growing up in the 1970s or 80s, you can divide them into Two Groups. The “Electric Football Group” and the “Video Game Group”. I grew up on electric football. I could even make the QB complete passes. My younger brother was more of the Atari/Nintendo generation. Always better at those games than me. Except for Pit Fall and Track And Field. I owned him on those two. For us kids, this was a special week waiting see see what sports toy might show up under the Christmas tree. Special shout-out to the Super Toe! Greatest kick of all-time and I still have mine from around 1978 or so.
  2. Fact. The NORAD Santa Tracker app and site is one of the coolest things out there. If it had existed when is seven years old I would never have gone to sleep. Or would I? I used it for my son and I still “track Santa” each year. Y’all need to check it out if you have young kids around the house this year. It’s also a great way to sneak in a geography lesson.
  3. Remember, the 12 Days of Christmas start on Christmas Day. Which means you get to keep your tree and decorations out til January 5th. Enjoy.
  4. I don’t know how old you have to be to be excited about getting a tankless water heater for Christmas, but I am that old.
  5. If you can, try and do one random act of kindness for a stranger this week. Be the Christmas Spirit that is always talked about. You never know what chain-reaction your kind act might inspire. Oh, and it isn’t always about money. In fact, it rarely is. Merry Christmas!
