Happy Monday, Y’all !
I really felt bad for all the Texas Tech fans who are Houston Texan fans Sunday. Had to feel a little familiar. Here you are in the playoffs with a great defense and then suddenly the offense looks like the Hutch Jr High B Team. Actually, that’s unfair to the J.T. Hutchinson Rangers. That was just brutal to watch Sunday against New England. As for the Texans, do you move on from C.J. Stroud? Can you? Must you?
We’ll have that to talk about tonight as well as a ton of Texas Tech sports. The Texas Tech men used a massive second half comeback to beat BYU ( were have we heard that before with this team..) Saturday night while the Lady Raiders saw their season-long winning streak snapped at 19 with a tough home loss to Kansas State. Rebounding the biggest reason. Sharing record with the 1993 National Champs isn’t such a bad thing though… Add in more Texas Tech football portal action plus all sorts of talk about expanding the CFB Playoffs and it’s gonna be a busy Monday night.
Speaking of the CFB National Championship Game with Indiana and Miami squaring off, it still seems odd playing it on a Monday night. I don’t have to have it each year on January 1, but at least give us Championship Saturday! If the ratings are down for tonights game, pundits will howl about not have “blue bloods” in the game ( sorry Miami ) and for it being played in late January. And whatever else they can come up with for sure…. So get ready for it.

Good, Bad & Ugly
Each Monday we look back and recap the weekend, Good, Bad & Ugly style. A tradition around Raiderland since 1994 and the old Williams & Hyatt Show days. Some things were great, some not so great and some so bad they were ugly. We’ll give you a few of ours, you fire away in the comments and and we’ll discuss in-depth tonight on The Daily Broadcast.
G: J.T. Toppin. Goes without saying, but we’ve got to say it. If this team had any inside post-help right now they would be top five in the nation. Oh ya, that Anderson guy is pretty good too! Best combo at Tech since….
B: CFB playing the National Championship game on a Monday night. I’m not one who says the season MUST finish on January 1, but at least play the title game on a Saturday night. The NFL will work with you. Promise. Because the networks will demand it.
U: Bo Nix season ending in OT with a broken ankle for the Broncos, and no one knew it…. Ugly for so many reasons. Now we’re cheated of what would have been a fun AFC Title Game in New England.
