- Thanks to a Federal Judge in Colorado, Texas Tech MBB just went from mid-pack Big 12 to a Top 20 or Top 10 team in the nation. All reports are that this will allow Darrion Williams and Donovan Atwell to return for a 5th season of college basketball. Same goes for UCF transfer Jamichael Stillwell to join the program. This changes everything. If Texas Tech HC Grant McCasland was gaming this play for the last month or so… congrats. He is officially a Super Genius and Basketball Sorcerer. So, as the calendar flips to August, one less thing for Texas Tech hoops fans to worry about. Also, if you’re a Texas Tech fan, that means you can’t whine and bemoan what lawsuits and judges are doing to college sports. You gotta embrace it and except it. This is the NCAA’s fault anyhow for poorly crafted rules and legislation. Another day, another court loss for the NCAA. And the school like Texas Tech continue to pay the court fees…
- I’m torn. Not sure what I’d rather see made in Hollywood. A remake of Days of Thunder or a pure Part Two with Tom Cruise and whoever else they can get back from the original. Remakes rarely work. But, I think you could make it happen with an updated script. Hell, NASCAR is about back to where it was popularity-wise in the early 90s. Small crowds, hard to find each week on TV and getting tougher and tougher to get sponsors. A remake just might work. What do you think?
- While the last 24-hours have seen the Big 10 and SEC leaders voice their support for revisions in the Protect College Sports act, we still think it’s a long-shot to get done this session in the Senate and the House has even bigger political obstacles facing it. That said, one interesting vote in the Senate could be that of outgoing Senator John Cornyn from Texas. President Donald Trump has been a vocal proponent of the act Co-Sponsored by Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Democrat Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington. Of course the relationship between Cornyn and Trump and been well documented as acrimonious at times and lately, Trump endorsed Ken Paxton in the primary against Cornyn. Cornyn is one of two Republican Senators holding up the nomination of acting Attorney General Todd Blanche right now, causing Trump to consider pulling the nomination until after Cornyn is out of office. So, with all of that as a backdrop, would Cornyn use the Protect College Sports Act No Vote as a middle finger to Trump on his way out of office? Cornyn is done politically so it doesn’t matter to him. Whether Texas universities support it or not doesn’t matter to him. Politics. You gotta love it. Pay attention to the Cornyn vote if it gets to the full Senate next week…

Only difference in nascar today and in the 90s is today’s drivers are, for the most part, spoiled whiners who have no clue what a camshaft is. Bet 9/10 never changed an oil filter or tuned a v8 motor. Wonder boy and his rainbow warriors are way more manly men than this crew today is. Rasheed Rice might fit in more than today’s clowns do.
