Happy Monday!
Hopefully everyone had a great final weekend without Texas High School Football, College Football or NFL Football. That’s right. For the next several months, there will be football. And the people said, Amen!
We had a busy weekend out in the country. Ropesville had their 62/82 Music Fest and we got to take in the full Maines Brothers Band in all their West Texas glory. They didn’t hit the stage until 10:30. Given many of our ages now, it was impressive for both the band and the crowd to still be rocking after midnight! The Hogg Maulies opened and they nailed it as usual. Fun and talented guys, see them when you can. Also got to hear a young former Tech guy named Grant Gilbert. He’s got a talented band and they make the most of their amps! I can see why he’s rising on the Texas Music Charts. All in all, a Real Good Night.
This week we’ll start getting down to brass tacks when it comes to Texas Tech Football. Allen Corbin released his season predictions on Friday. I’ll have mine on the Wednesday night Daily Broadcast. I always wait as long as possible for injury news and to see what has changed with Tech’s opponents during August camp. I’m really struggling this year on my win total. Probably won’t decide until Wednesday around 5PM.
We’ll also start Preseason Counseling for Deluded Dallas Cowboys fans this week. We’re here to help. Please. Do yourself a favor and just try to enjoy the season as it plays out. You’ll thank yourself later.
Now let’s get this week going.
Raiderland Helmet Stickers
Each Monday we hand out the very coveted Raiderland Helmet Stickers. There are many helmet stickers, there’s only ONE Raiderland Helmet Sticker. You can award them to anyone sports or otherwise who deserves a little recognition and celebration. You’re only limited by your own creativity. Feel free to mention your spouse. I often do. For obvious reasons.
So, who gets your Raiderland Helmet Stickers this week? Post away in the comments below!
Here’s our list for the week:
Ropesville, Texas for the 62/82 Music Fest. Fun and lots of families. As it should be.
Don Williams, the A-J. Cranked out a great feature you can read below on how Texas Tech nearly ended up going West in 2010.
All the moms and dads moving their kids off to college. Our day is coming.
My wife’s ability to put anything in a crock-pot and several hours later great things come out of it.

Every day we strive to bring you cool stories, fun tweets, compelling videos and articles you might have missed. We figure if it interest us, it will interest you too. Again, Happy Monday and we’ll see you tonight on The Daily Broadcast at 6:30 on Twitter Live, Facebook Live and our YouTube Channel.
Don Williams starts us off with a great look at what did and didn’t happen with Texas Tech going to the Pac10 in 2010. A bullet dodged one might say looking back:
