Happy Wednesday, Y’all !

Well, nice to have you back Internet.

Sorry about Tuesday morning, but we got thwarted by whatever outage was going on around different servers around the country. Still haven’t heard a real reason, but by the time we were up and running at Raiderland HQ it was already getting into Daily Broadcast territory. Today though, we’re back!

Texas Tech Football is slotted just right, right now in the latest CFB Playoff rankings. Five is, quite frankly, what they’ve earned to this point. The great thing is, with two more wins, Texas Tech will move up to three in the rankings and get a first-round bye. The committee has telegraphed how it will work for the most part. Spots one and two go to the SEC and Big 10 Conference champ. Three goes to Tech if it wins the title game and is 12-1 as a major conference champ. The four spot goes to the next highest valued SEC/Big10 team and then the rest fills in.

It really is that simple.

Now the question becomes for some Tech fans, what do you value more? Obviously you want to win the Big 12 championship. I can’t imagine anyone saying tank that game. But, there are some who really want Tech to host a first round game, then move on to the semis. For different reasons and while they’re all valid, I’d just as soon see Texas Tech at three and get the bye.

What do y’all want to happen and why? What do y’all think will happen and why? Fire away in the comments below and we’ll take that up as well as some Texas Tech Hoops and much more tonight on The Daily Broadcast.

What IF Wednesday

Brought to you by Shropshire Insurance of Texas. You’ll never ask What IF when it comes to your insurance coverage when you have Shropshire on your side. Give them a call and tell them thanks for supporting what we do in Raiderland!

We love history in Raiderland and part of that is Alt. History. The great What Ifs in life. On Wednesday, we take history and flip it around. We find out how you think the world would be different if certain events turned out different. Sometimes sports, sometimes just life in general.

This week we go college sports.

What IF: ESPN didn’t exist.

How different is college sports today if there is no ESPN going 24-7 sports. What IF we lived in the pre-ESPN world of just regular networks showing sports in addition to their normal programming? Would college sports be as popular? Would it be generating as much money? Would there have been conference realignments over the last three/four decades?

Tell us in the comments and we’ll take up the world without ESPN tonight on The Daily Broadcast.
