Happy Friday, Y’all !
This week needed a Friday. Certainly not a bad week, but just seemed like a long week. And now… we wait.
We have to wait until the sun has been down 3 hours tomorrow night before Texas Tech and Arizona tangle out West in what should be one of the better games of the season. I love this match-up and wish more of the country could see it. Even on Big Fox, how many folks back East are gonna stay up for this. Are you paying attention Brett Yormark? This is why we brought in these teams. Not just to have late night windows, but to better showcase their product unlike the Pac-12 did. Put the old Pac teams on late when they play each other if you want to, but don’t deprive fans in Lubbock too often. It defeats the purpose in my opinion. . .
Prediction Time
As we said, we love the match-up. Arizona stops the run, Texas Tech runs the ball. That’s the deal tomorrow for me. Texas Tech can’t abandon the running game no matter how much Arizona sells-out against. That’s when play-action comes in. But for play-action to work, they must respect that you’ll run it.
The other concern is Joey McGuire teams on the road. Forget the road. Look at turnovers. It’s the turnovers, home or away that matter for this program. Win that battle and you normally win the game.
Make no mistake, going for it and getting stopped on 4th down is a turnover, as sure as a pick or a fumble. So don’t do it. McGuire got home from Washington State and got his mind right on that the last three games, don’t relapse in Tucson. Make them earn every yard. Believe in The Good Enough Defense this week.
I think this line is right at Arizona -6.5. I think it’s a one possession game. I’ll give you my score tonight on The Daily Broadcast LIVE at 6:30 on X, YouTube and Facebook LIVE. Post your score in the comments below and we will discuss tonight. If you missed the Thursday show, here ya go:
See y’all tonight
